Dear Parents,

The safe passage of each child attending the Bellmawr School District is the number one priority for the members of the Board of Education, the administration, and every staff member. We work collaboratively every day to ensure that your children arrive to school safely, remain safe in our schools throughout the day and during dismissal.

Some of you have previously contacted me, or the principal with concerns about the traffic problems at the school during arrival time.

Based upon my observations, conversations with the Bellmawr Police and

Mrs. Calabria, the district will be implementing the following procedures for the parking lot area.

Effective immediately the following procedures will be put into place:

You must pull all the way up to the top of the drop off zone. Failure to do so results in a back log which is extremely dangerous for your children and our parents. If you do this we will contact the police and we will sign a motor vehicle summons against you.

Please do not leave your car unattended in the drop off zone. This is unlawful and your car may be ticketed.

Please do not block crosswalks and follow the direction of the Custodian, who is attempting to regulate the traffic flow and keep our children safe. Blocking the crosswalk is an offense. You may be ticketed.

Please be aware that the Bellmawr Police have jurisdiction over the parking lot and have agreed to work with the school district in assisting us in enforcing these rules.

Please keep in mind that your child’s safety is at the heart of what may seem like harsh statements and actions. A little inconvenience now could save many tears at a later date. I am certain that no one wants to see anyone hurt because of failure to follow simple rules. You are welcome to contact me should you have any questions regarding this situation.

Sincerely, Sincerely,
